{"id":45936,"date":"2025-11-02T11:20:40","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T07:20:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/?p=45936"},"modified":"2025-11-02T11:20:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T07:20:41","slug":"hyundai-and-nvidia-enhance-collaboration-for-autonomous-vehicle-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2025\/11\/02\/hyundai-and-nvidia-enhance-collaboration-for-autonomous-vehicle-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Hyundai and NVIDIA Enhance Collaboration for Autonomous Vehicle Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0Hyundai Motor Group and\u00a0NVIDIA\u00a0today announced they are deepening their collaboration to accelerate innovation in autonomous vehicles (AVs), smart factories and robotics with a new AI factory, powered by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/data-center\/technologies\/blackwell-architecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/data-center\/technologies\/blackwell-architecture\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762152705802000&amp;usg=AOvVaw01PBn4PYK2hrCpjiZAe3oF\">\u00a0<\/a>NVIDIA Blackwell\u00a0AI infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyundaimotorgroup.com\/en\/news\/CONT0000000000167615\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.hyundaimotorgroup.com\/en\/news\/CONT0000000000167615&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762152705802000&amp;usg=AOvVaw19owO0VwmrNmvtgOMgGRjh\">Building on their previous work together<\/a>, Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA are now entering a new phase of collaboration, shifting from strategic adoption of advanced software platforms and infrastructure to joint innovation of core physical AI technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Together, they will co-develop AI capabilities for mobility solutions, next-generation smart factories, and on-device semiconductor advancements to strengthen Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s future capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this endeavour, Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA aim to enable integrated AI model training, validation and deployment using 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, in support of the\u00a0Korean government\u2019s initiative\u00a0to build a national physical AI cluster, Hyundai Motor Group and NVIDIA will work closely with government stakeholders to accelerate ecosystem development. This will result in an approximately $3 billion investment to advance the physical AI landscape in Korea.<\/p>\n<p>Key efforts include the establishment of Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s Physical AI Application Centre, NVIDIA AI Technology Centre, and physical AI data centres in the region.<\/p>\n<p>To formalise this collaboration, the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea, Hyundai Motor Group, and NVIDIA signed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 31. This collaboration will also foster dynamic exchanges with NVIDIA\u2019s world-class engineers and technicians, helping to cultivate Korea\u2019s next generation of physical AI talent.<\/p>\n<p>With its NVIDIA Blackwell-based AI factory, Hyundai Motor Group will deploy essential infrastructure for powering every phase of innovation \u2014 bringing together in-vehicle AI, autonomous driving, factory automation and robotics into one intelligent, interconnected ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai Motor Group is using the three NVIDIA AI compute platforms that serve as the infrastructure for physical AI and robotics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">THE NVIDIA DGX platform and other NVIDIA AI infrastructure enable large-scale AI model training and software development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">NVIDIA Omniverse\u00a0and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/ai\/cosmos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>NVIDIA Cosmos, running on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/data-center\/products\/rtx-pro-server\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0<\/a>NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers, enable digital twins and simulations\u00a0to optimise manufacturing, as well as test and validate AV software across an infinite number of driving scenarios.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor\u00a0serves as the \u201cAI brain\u201d for real-time intelligence in vehicles and robots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together, these computing platforms form the backbone of AI and car factories, enabling the transportation industry to develop, validate and deploy advanced physical AI at scale.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the expanded collaboration, unveiled earlier this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2025\/06\/20\/hyundai-motor-group-achieves-top-iihs-ratings-for-multiple-models\/\">Hyundai Motor Group<\/a> will use the NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise platform to develop robust factory digital twins \u2014 virtual replicas of manufacturing environments that unify and manage factory data \u2014 as well as enable precision control, software- and hardware-in-the-loop validation, discrete event simulation and virtual commissioning.<\/p>\n<p>These physically accurate digital environments accelerate robot integration, optimise production, enable predictive maintenance and pave the way for fully <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2025\/05\/28\/volvos-autonomous-technology-transforms-limestone-mining-in-norway\/\">autonomous<\/a>, software-defined factories \u2014 reshaping how vehicles are designed and manufactured.<\/p>\n<p>Omniverse Enterprise also extends to humanoid and robotic systems using<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\/sim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\/sim&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762152705803000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1DZ_V4NL6l4mSjM5y6PCpA\">\u00a0<\/a>NVIDIA Isaac Sim\u2014an open robotics reference framework built on NVIDIA Omniverse. This enables the virtual validation of task assignments, motion planning, and ergonomic safety before robot deployment on physical production lines, significantly accelerating robot integration and maximising productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai Motor Group is also testing the use of NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos platforms on NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers (with\u00a0NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs) to build digital twins of regional driving environments and conditions, incorporating extensive simulations to advance its development pipeline. These sophisticated capabilities place Hyundai Motor Group at the forefront of scalable, next-generation autonomous driving.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced AI models \u2014 built with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/ai-data-science\/foundation-models\/nemotron\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/ai-data-science\/foundation-models\/nemotron\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1762152705803000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0Pe2K-OsjX6QM8_3sHJBET\">\u00a0<\/a>NVIDIA\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">NeMo\u00a0open AI reasoning models and\u00a0NVIDIA NeMo software \u2014 could enable over-the-air<\/span> updates of capabilities and features across vehicles. In addition to autonomy capabilities, <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2024\/05\/28\/hyundai-motor-group-appoints-manfred-harrer-as-head-of-genesis-and-performance-development-tech-unit\/\">Hyundai Motor Group<\/a> will cooperate on these advanced models to develop a range of innovative in\u2011vehicle AI features, from personalised digital assistants to intelligent infotainment and adaptive comfort systems, powered by these advanced models.
