This achievement was accomplished in just 57 years since the company\u2019s foundation, making it one of the fastest in the global automotive industry. In honour of this milestone, Hyundai Motor held a ceremony at its Ulsan Plant in Korea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a token of gratitude for its customers&#8217; unwavering support and trust, the company delivered its 100 millionth and first vehicle, an <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2024\/02\/27\/hyundai-motors-ioniq-5-and-ioniq-6-were-back-to-back-triple-title-winners-at-the-world-car-awards\/\">IONIQ 5<\/a>, directly to a customer. The car rolled off the final inspection conveyor belt at Ulsan Plant\u2019s shipping centre during a special handover ceremony. The event also featured a celebratory display commemorating \u2018100 million and 1\u2019, symbolizing Hyundai Motor\u2019s commitment to pushing one step further with its past accomplishments as the foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>\u201cReaching global cumulative production of 100 million vehicles is a meaningful milestone that was possible thanks to our customers worldwide who have chosen and supported Hyundai Motor since the very beginning,\u201d said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubairoute.com\/article\/hyundai-motor-group-canoo-to-co-develop-all-electric-platform-for-future-electric-vehicles\"> Hyundai Motor Company.<\/a> \u201cTaking on bold challenges and constantly pursuing innovation has enabled us to achieve rapid growth and will empower us to take \u2018one step further\u2019 toward another 100 million units as a mobility game changer.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ulsan Plant began operations in 1968 and holds significant historical importance as the \u2018birthplace of the development of the Korean automobile industry.\u2019 In 1975, the plant produced Korea\u2019s first mass-produced independent model, the Pony. The Ulsan Plant is a central hub for electrification, and the company is establishing a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) facility at the site.<\/p>\n<p>This historic achievement follows Hyundai Motor\u2019s continuous growth, fueled by the launch of the premium brand Genesis and the high-performance brand N and the introduction of EVs such as the IONIQ 5 based on the dedicated electric global modular platform (E-GMP). The company\u2019s global footprint has expanded with production facilities in Turkey, India, the U.S., and the Czech Republic, contributing to record achievements, including surpassing 50 million vehicles manufactured in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Hyundai Motor built on this momentum by establishing the <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2023\/10\/06\/hyundai-motor-group-rolls-out-art-cars-in-paris-supporting-busans-bid-to-host-2030-world-expo\/\">Hyundai Motor Group<\/a> Global Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), a new intelligent urban mobility hub concept. The innovative manufacturing platforms and advanced technologies developed there, including artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and smart factories, are set to be introduced to future production factories, such as Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), maximizing production efficiency.
