The new car will deliver world-class off-road capability, with zero compromises to on-road performance, and offers zero and low-emission options.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unveiled in London by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, it was confirmed that alongside the previously announced all-electric powertrain (BEV), a low emission range-extender electric is in development to ensure the <strong>INEOS Fusilier <\/strong>meets the broadest range of global consumer needs whilst pushing towards decarbonisation.<\/p>\n<p>The range-extender option consists of a small petrol engine that powers a generator to maintain the battery&#8217;s charge level when external charging isn&#8217;t available. Confirmation of the alternative powertrain details and launch timings are expected by autumn 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, says, &#8220;<em>As we developed this vehicle, we quickly concluded that to<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>move towards decarbonisation<\/em><em> but <\/em><em>continue making cars that consumers want <\/em><em>to <\/em><em>drive,<\/em><em> we need a mix of <\/em><em>powertrain <\/em><em>technologies. BEVs are perfect for certain uses<\/em><em>:<\/em><em> shorter trips and urban deliveries. However, industry and governments need to have realistic expectations around other technologies that can help accelerate the necessary pace of change<\/em><em>.<\/em><em> We offer<\/em><em>\u00a0an additional powertrain for the Fusilier, which dramatically reduces emissions but <\/em><em>has<\/em><em> the range and refuelling capabilities needed.<\/em>&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Developed in conjunction with industry-leading automotive supplier <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magna.com\/\">Magna<\/a>, which will also manufacture the vehicle in its facility in Graz, <a href=\"https:\/\/3sri.net\/2015\/09\/28\/%d9%81%d9%8a%d9%8a%d9%86%d8%a7-%d9%82%d8%b7%d8%b9%d8%a9-%d9%85%d9%86-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%ac%d9%86%d8%a9\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Austria,<\/a> the <strong>INEOS Fusilier<\/strong> will represent a unique proposition for customers.<\/p>\n<p>Building on the Grenadier&#8217;s DNA with a modern direction and <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2019\/04\/27\/infiniti-qs-inspiration-made-its-global-debut-at-auto-shanghai\/\">distinctive identity<\/a>, the new 4X4 will be slightly shorter and lower in height. It will be constructed on a bespoke skateboard platform with a steel top hat, underbody, and aluminium doors and closures.<\/p>\n<p>INEOS partnered with Magna to develop the Grenadier station wagon and Quartermaster pick-up. As one of the world&#8217;s largest automotive suppliers and independent contract<a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2024\/02\/22\/amalgam-reveals-special-bugatti-type-59-edition-with-j-p-wimille-figure\/\"> manufacturers<\/a>, Magna produces several conventional ICE, hybrid and <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2023\/10\/13\/5-questions-answered-about-electric-vehicles\/\">electric vehicles<\/a> for various automakers.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the development process for the <strong>INEOS Fusilier<\/strong> will include a rigorous testing programme on Austria&#8217;s Sch\u00f6ckl mountain, close to Magna&#8217;s complete vehicle assembly facility in Graz.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, comments, <em>&#8220;Announcing our third model line is <\/em><em>another significant milestone for INEOS Automotive, cementing our intent as an automotive manufacturer \u2013 like our full vehicle line-up, we are here for the long-haul<\/em><em>.&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>INEOS Automotive also unveiled a Grenadier Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology Demonstrator at the <a href=\"https:\/\/autoscommunity.com\/2023\/07\/18\/theon-design-makes-goodwood-festival-of-speed-debut-with-latest-commission-ita001\/\">Goodwood Festival of Speed<\/a> in July 2023, demonstrating its broader commitment to future decarbonisation.
