Volvo Car USA and Canada Reports Sales of 9,828 Cars in September
Volvo Car USA and Canada sold 9,828 cars in September, down 19.5 per cent from the same period last year. Sales of electrified models—those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain — increased 19.3 per cent compared with the same month last year, accounting for 41.4 per cent of sales in September.
Year to date, sales of electrified models are up 16 per cent compared to the first nine months of 2023 and account for a 34.1 per cent share of sales.
Sales in the US reached 8,518 in September, down 22.2 per cent from the same period last year. Sales of electrified models increased by 11.9 per cent and accounted for 40.1 per cent of total sales.
Sales in Canada reached 1,310 cars in September, up 3.5 per cent over the same period last year. Electrified models increased 81.6 per cent compared to the same period last year, representing 49.8 per cent of total sales for the month.
In the US, the XC60 compact luxury SUV was the top-selling model, with 2,807 cars sold during September, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV (2,633 vehicles) and the XC40 small luxury SUV (1,715).
